Rosie Wilson and Old SpiceRosie rode the young colt up the turf track in a brisk walk. He was very fresh from the new spring grass, Rosie was chasing him in the field for ages before she finally caught him. Oz suddenly threw his head in the air slightly rearing. Get on! Rosie give a tug on the reins and then squeezed the frisky colt on. Rosie continued to walk Oz around the track whilst she waited for Rae and who ever she had chosen to ride. [/blockquote][/sub]

Rae Curiosity and Kiss The True Heart
The gentle dark filly stood tall in her stable that morning, pricking her towers tall. Rae pushed open the barn door and walked along through the barn, seeing horses as they poked there heads over the door, one by one. Revel, Sonya, Maddie, then the beautiful brown filly which stood out immediately from the others. Hiya there. Rae slowly pushed her hand along through the air, not feeling the amount of air particles wildly hitting her hand. The particles stopped as Rae's hand touched the soft brown filly. Rae read the name plaque. Kiss. Rae's heart lit up. Ah. What a nice name.
Rae reached for the fillys head collar. She took hold of it and slipped it on the dark brown filly over the door. Rae opened the door and lead her out quietly. She whinnied to the other horses, as she pranced about. Rae took off her trainers and got her boots on, then her chaps over them after tieing the filly up. Rae walked into the tack room, and looked along the rows of saddlery. Kiss... Kiss... Kiss... Ah ha! Kiss! She found the fillys saddle and bridle.
Walking out, Rae saw the shiny dark brown filly standing with her head resting upon the stable door. Rae smiled, and placed the fillys saddle cloth upon her back. The saddle followed, then the bridle. Rae got hold of her riding helmet, and vaulted on the horse. She was silent. They walked out of the barn, and got onto the soft turf track. Hey Rosie, Rae smiled. Kiss saw Oz, and whinnied to him, as to say a calm and friendly hello, or Hiya there! Rae halted beside Rosie and Oz. [/sub][/center]

Old Spice ridden by Rosie Wilson [/u] Rosie heard light footsteps coming up behind us. Oz spun on his haunches to face the rider and mare approaching up. Oh, hey Rae! Rosie smiled warmly in the direction of the girl. So then, if you want to warm Kiss up and I'll warm up Oz, then we'll get back together and have a bit of a run. Oz pawed impaciently at the turf, and threw his head up; he sure was energentic today. Rosie pushed Oz on into a trot he set off in a quick and energetic trot. She urged him on past Kiss and Rae, reining him in to get him in her full control. He was very skitty and began to trot diagonally up the track. Rosie tapped his shoulder with the crop and pushed him on straight up the track. For a while this did the trick, however they came around the bend and out onto the back straight, which backed onto some trees. Oz was finally going good, but Rosie heard birds, then a small group of brids flew out of the trees, squaking and flapping. Oz's ears pricked and he set off in a canter, skidding sidewards. He gave a buck which knocked Rosie forward. She held tight to his mane and kicked him on trying to get him walking again. Eventually the fiery colt began to skip on. [/size][/center]

Rae Curiosity and Kiss The True Heart
Rae smiled and nodded at Rosie's telling. She walked the filly up the track at one pace, the usual fast pace, then cantered back. They watched as Rosie was tossed forward in the saddle, and got her seat back.
Squeezing the filly gently in the sides, she set off in a canter, for a gentle canter down the track. The mare whinnied. They cantered half way up the straight, and turned back, in a trot.
Rae called Rosie over. She's ready now! [/sub][/center]

Old Spice ridden by Rosie WilsonAfter walking sensibly down half of the straight Rosie pushed the colt on into a working trot. She posted to his strides and continued to down the straight, when the pair got to the end of the straightline Rosie directed the colt around 180 degrees and immediatly asked for canter. Oz set off in a frisky canter, full pelt down the track. Rosie sat deep and half halted with her ring finger, this brought the fiery colt back down to a more sensible speed. Rosie kept Oz in a nice flowing canter until they came about 50 yards from Rae and Kiss. She asked the colt to come down into trot, which he did so after being asked a few times. Rosie trotted him up to the pair and brought him around to stand next to them, then brought him down to walk. Rosie turned to Rae, but still keeping a firm grip and attention on Oz, Ok, us too. So, urm. She runs eight furlongs at the least and that'll be fine for Oz, so let's do that? [/blockquote][/size]

Rae Curiosity and Kiss The True Heart
Rae nodded. Sure. Kiss stared at the large steel appliance as it gazed at her. As she started to load, Kiss leapt back and reared. Unprepared, Rae slipped off and landed hard. Rae mounted back on and spoke. Kiss, darlin' you've done this many times. Surely you know how to. After a couple of times, the blindfold was introduced. Then she walked in.

Rosie and Oz stood back as Kiss was loaded, she was being a pain in the butt. Oz shifted slightly as he was getting impacient and Kiss was playing up, Rosie didn't know what was wrong with Oz today, maybe the spring grass. And as for Kiss, could be the same, or she was in heat, but if she didn't improve in the next few weeks the blinkers might have to be re-introduced to her, she had them when she was a yearling. Rosie cringed as Rae slid off, but then saw she was fine. Eventually she got Kiss loaded and noe it was Oz's turn. Rosie pushed the colt on and urged him into the gates. He put his weight on his haunches and Rosie thought he was about to rear, instead he backed up. Rosie circled him and again urged him into the gates, this time he was successfully loaded and the gate was shut behind then. Oz shifted in the gate, knocking Rosie about. Rosie sat quietly though waiting for the sieren.

Rae Curiosity and Kiss The True Heart
Rae patted Kiss in the stalls, and grinned. "Ready?" Kiss snorted. "I'll take that as a yes." Ears pricked, the siren sounded...

Old Spice ridden by Rosie WilsonOz shifted restlesly in the stalls. Rosie prepared herself and Oz and then waited... The sieren sounded and the gates flung open. Oz lept forwards out of the stall and set off into an immediate gallop down the inner rail. Rosie concentrated on Oz as he twisted his head around in the air; as if he was trying to catch something. When he settled Rosie gave a quick glance over at Rae and Kiss to see how they were, they were running good, close by to us. Again Rosie set her attention back to Oz before he could misbehave again.

Rae Curiosity and Kiss The True Heart
Kiss broke perfectly, and matched strides with the leader. Rae began to hold her back. She settled easily as they stalked the leader. They were a couple of lengths behind, as they passed the 1400m pole, or 7 furlongs. Rae pictured Nad Al Sheba in the Dubai World Cup. Kiss settled, with a high head carriage. Her pace was perfect, as she watched Oz and Rosie ahead.

Old Spice ridden by Rosie WilsonOz continued perfectly just ahead of Kiss, behaving like he had done nothing earlier. Rosie stood in the stirrups, simply going with the flow. Oz was usually good at setting his own speed and he knew what he could handle and what he couldn't. We still rested just above Kiss as we came around the final bend. Rosie slowed Oz's speed a bit for him as we took the turn, he floated away from the rail just a small bit. But as be came back onto the straightline he adjusted his position and soon hugged the rail tightly again. Rosie pushed Oz quicker as the distance left got less and less. Rosie thought that Rae would probably soon bring Kiss around and up. Again she pushed Oz quicker and we came into the final furlong, they wouldn't wait for Kiss to make her move. [/blockquote]

Kiss The True Heart ridden by Rae CuriosityRae showed Kiss the whip, and the fillys ears pricked. Coming into the final furlong, Rae came level with Rosie and Oz. The filly stopped her high head carriage, and poked it in front. Tapping the filly down the shoulder and urging her on, Rae pushed the filly in front by a length, as they crossed the line. "Well done, girl." [/blockquote]

Old Spice ridden by Rosie Wilson
Oz finished strong, just a length behind the more experienced grade two racer, Kiss. I gradually pulled Oz up to a canter, trot and then walk. I allowed Oz to take the rein as we cooled down, I walked him around the track once, then halted him. I patted his neck, Good lad! I then took my feet out of the stirrups and dismounted. I led Oz off the track and back to his stall where he would be fed and rewarded.
