Desinted For Glory ridden by Rosie WilsonI urged the filly on into a gentle walk down the inner rail of the track. Destiny nodded her head slightly and then whinnied as the wind began blowing lightly in our faces. I pushed Destiny into a forward going trot to keep he warm as we waited for Rae and Rio, a more experienced and older racehorse of Millie's. Destiny worked nicely in a natural outline down the rail. I pushed her on more as she began to slow after some time. We came to the three furlong marker, I pushed her into a flowing canter and she responded excellently. Destiny was always very well behaved on the track, she did not at all act her age. As I saw Rae and Rio coming onto the track ahead of us I brought Destiny down to a walk and continued towards them. Aces Diamond Rio ridden by Rae CuriosityRio trotted onto the turf track. His feet sunk deep in, as the morning dew had made the going from good to soft. Rio snorted and chomped his bit, beginning to slobber. Pricking his ears at Destiny as she crossed the line. Rio gave a little rear, as to say hey gorge, in a sweet manner. "Hey Rosie. Rio seems lively today, and maybe willing for a nice gallop. What distance are they both capable of?" As Rio breathed out of his nose, he noticed a cloud of steam, he looked at it weirdly and tried to poke his nose into it, but it didn't move. He leapt forward, but nothing. Rae laughed. "Silly old horse." She patted him. [/blockquote]

Destined For Glory ridden by Rosie WilsonRosie brought Destiny to a halt as Rio came closer. Rio performed a small rear and Destiny figited a bit. Hey. Well Destiny's a sprinter and Rio's more of a long distance runner. Destiny won't be able to handle anything long, but Rio is used to short gallops, so six furlongs should be fine. Rosie finished talking and then pushed Destiny into a trot parrallel to Rio. She shook her head as if showing off and then continued down the track. [/blockquote]

Aces Diamond Rio ridden by Rae CuriosityRae nodded politely. Can we use the appliances? Gate to be exact? Rio snorted and nodded his head up and down. Oh my goodness, he's clever. Rio snorted, dancing on the spot as to say I'm better than you! All of you! Rae tugged the reins on Rio. Oi, pack up acting like a total prat. Rae spoke seriously. Rio gave a slight rear. HEY! What did I tell you?! Rio dropped his head. Oh what the heck Rio?! Rae laughed. [/blockquote]

Desinted For Glory ridden by Rosie WilsonYep we can! I said in reply to Rae'a question. Rio began being a show off, He's always been a clever little show off, it's the tone of your voice he reacts to. I laughed. So if we canter around to the gates, that'll be about one and a half furlongs, and then they'll be ready to race. I pushed Destiny into a canter beside Rio, she did as she was told and made her way down to the gates. I brought her to a halt and she pranced sidewards as they aproached the gates. I walked Destiny over to the rail where a stable hand was waiting with Destiny's hood. He slipped it over her head and secured it. She always raced with one, though not many of Millie's racers did, infact just her and Kiss at present. I turned her and asked her to go into the gates, which as usual she did without any fuss. We waited for Rae and Rio to load now.

Aces Diamond Rio ridden by Rae CuriosityRae pushed Rio into canter and got level with Rosie and Destiny. They cantered up, and Rio looked at the gates. The gate hands went to put a blind fold on. No, no blindfold. Please. The gate hand nodded, and Rio walked straight in. The blinkers focused him, and he pawed the ground. Snorting, he waited for Rosie and Destiny to load. [/blockquote]

Destined For Glory ridden by Rosie Wilson
I sat waiting. The sieren then sounded and the gates flung open. Go, go, go! I thought to myself. But I didn't need to, insinctivly Destiny launched her self out onto the track. I directed her towards the inner rail alowing her to rest comfortably at Rio's rear. We wouldn't make a move until about one and a half furlongs to go. Destiny ran at a steady pace down the straight, we came to the two furlong marker and nothing had changed.

Aces Diamond Rio ridden by Rae Curiosity Rae sat there passing the two furlongs, then coming up to the one, Rio quickened, and awaited Destiny to come up side. [/blockquote]

destined for glory ridden by rosie wilson i stood, rocking with the motion of destiny's gallop. we passed the half way mark. adrenaline rushed, and i urged destiny on into a more forwards gallop, we lay comfortably a length ahead of rae and rio. though i wasn't sure what would happen at the end of the run. would rio turn into a sprinter and pull it out of the bag? or would destiny do her stuff and rio leave his move too late? Aces Diamond Rio ridden by Rae Curiosity The furlong marker on the home stretch was seconds away. I rocked with Rio's rhythm and pushed him. I smacked him lightly with the whip and he was picking up speed. With the finish line moments away, would they be able to do it... [/blockquote]

ooc: destiny's a winner and rio's a distance runner, so we'll let destiny win this one by a bit. (;
destined for glory ridden by rosie wilson we wizzed around the track, rio by our side. stride for stride we came to the five furlong marker. i quickly adjuted my position and urged destiny forward. i sat deep and gave destiny a tap with my crop. she responded; lengthening her strides, stretching out her neck and tearing away the ground. soon we passed the finishing line 3/4 of a length ahead of rae and rio. well done girl! a broad smile spread across my face and i patted destiny's neck. i stood in my stirrups; bringing destiny to a walk. rio and rae passed us, destiny pricked her ears as they breezed close. she rose her head and reared up, thens side stepped. i clung to her neck as she shifted. whoa girl! it's ok, just rio. i stroked down destiny's neck, calming her. soon she was fine. i laughed to myself, talk about over reacting, ey destiny? finally i let her on a long rein to cool down, before dismounting and leaving the track after a satisfying and promising workout.
