dare to dream ridden by jaymee-leigh smith [/u] i asked sonya for a walk, she did as i asked and swiftly walked up the rail. sonya would be retiring this year, and i would miss racing her on the ghf tracks, but no doubt i'd still have often rides on her at the oh track. i saw rae and manny lingering ahead, waiting for us. come on girl, lets go. i whispered to sonya, i pushed her into a trot and rode her down to the pair, halting her beside them. hey! i said to rae. Hiya Jaymee! Rae turned Manny around, and he nickered to Sonya. I heard it's Sonya's last year. I was planning on asking if Manny here could breed her for a baby in 2 years. Manny tossed his head up and down. He agrees. Haha. Rae thought. How far today? Manny does 5 - 15 furlongs. What about Sonya?

dare to dream ridden by jaymee-leigh smith
i paused before replying to rae, thinking of my plans for sonya. well, i have plans for her breeding for the next year or two, and after that i plan to use her as a breezing partener and possible show horse. so i'm gunna have to say, no. millie felt awkward at her reply. again millie paused, then said, eleven sound good? it'll prepare her for er upcoming race, golden oldies, manny's running too, right? i urged sonya forwards. she lent back onto her haunches and propelled herself forward into a canter. i held her back, allowing her to gather her legs, and wait for manny.

Rae nodded to the reply of the no. Rae listened. Eleven furlongs is smack dab in the middle of his preference. And yea, Manny is running in the Golden Oldies. You'll win though. Rae warmed manny up and trotting down the the starting marker, Rae spoke. My cousin, Cherish might come down on my new maiden, Spice later. Oh, Manny is entered in the Bronze Stakes too.

dare to dream ridden by jaymee-leigh smith[/b] i waited for rae and halted sonya at the starting line. i listened whilst rae chattered on to me. you'll win i blushed and replied, perhaps, manny's been doing good though. rae continued about her cousin and new maiden, cool! i need to work no reservations, so i could ride him with her later on. and also if you need anyone else working i need to work precocious on the turf too! i smiled. ready? i asked. sonya shifted eagerly as she waited, she knew we were going to race and she just wanted to run. dare to dream ridden by jaymee-leigh smith[/u] i turned around and looked at the figures in the distance. hi! i'm jaymee-leigh and this is dare to dream! you must be cherish. i quickly introduced myself. there was no time to chat though. i was hoping millie would be here soon with precocious. hey rae, millie should be here soon with precocious. i looked behind me waiting for millie. talk of the devil. here she is now. i saw millie cantering cocio up the rail towards us. precocious ridden by millie daveys[/u] i cantered cocio up the inner rail. i could see three horses and riders ahead, waiting in the gates. i was anxious to see how cocio would react, it was the first time she had ran in a field of horses for a while. come on girl! lets go. i tapped cocio on into a short gallop before gradually bringing her to a walk before the gates. cocio paused, noseying at the others, before finally walking into the gates. hey guys! sorry for the wait. i waited in the gates, cocio was hyped up ready to be let loose on the track. i on the other hand was just focused on getting her around. dare to dream ridden by jaymee-leigh smith[/u] sonya was bored and getting worked up, she knew we were running, usually we would be straight in and straight out the otherside. there, there girl, i stroked sonya's neck calming her. we'll be off in a minute. eleven furlongs i head rae say. yep, eleven furlongs. i replied. everything was set. i adjusted my position and readied sonya. bringgg! the bell went and the gates flung open. sonya pushed off her haunches and lept onto the track, immediatly pushing into a gallop down the inner rail. sonya quickly settled just behind the pack, she was a preceeder and would gradually make her way up. precocious ridden by millie daveys[/b] yes, eleven's fine. i told rae. come on girl, show 'em all what your made off. i crouched low to cocio's neck and spoke softly in her ear. the count down to the race preceeded and i adjusted my position. bringgg! the bell went. i urged cocio on, though she needed no reminders. she shot out of the gates and preceeded down the track. we quickly took the spot next to millie and dare to dream. however cocio kept on going, until we were about 3/4 of a length ahead of them; there we settled as we aproched the up hill bend. dare to dream ridden by jaymee-leigh smith sonya galloped steadily at the back of the pack for the first four furlongs of the race. nothing changed with sonya in that time. she was a steady racer and ran well throughout that time. we began to slowly make our way up the rankings, sonya quickened her speed and turned to the outside of the pack, galloping soundly up the track. as eight furlongs passed we overtook precocious and millie, also nearing sugar and spice ridden by cherish. sonya quickened her pace again, this time over taking sugar and spice. nine furlongs flew past, sonya made her move. sonya quickened again and flew down the inner rail. the others also made their moves. as we got to the ten furlongs marker precocious came level with us and prime motive just behind. sonya did her best to stay up front, but in the end the fresh younger horse, precocious, passed us. as did prime motive. we finished the race in third place.
precocious ridden by millie daveys cocio settled quickly into seond place. all of the horses were quiet and stayed nicely in their position up until the four furlong marker. cocio stayed at the same pace and position. though sonya began to grow closer, making her way up from the back. cocio was loving running with the other horses, i was almost sure she was ready for her comback race in year eight. eight furlongs passed and i urged cocio on quicker, happily she shot down the rail, sonya still lingered behind us and slowly overtook us. i did not however plan for second place. we came to nine furlongs and i pushed cocio on to end the race. we ran our best and shot past sonya. holding our position and eventually winning the race.
