NATIONAL TREASURE
THE BASICS[/u]
Registered Name: National Treasure
Barn Name: Treasure
Age: Two [2011]
Gender: Filly
Height: 17hh
Breed: Thoroughbred
Colour: Black
Personality: Treasure really does live up to her name. She is quiet and gentle. She is always right beside her her best friend in the field; Shot Of Mocha and only rarely strays to play with the others for short periods of time, before straying back to her surrogate mother. Treasure is shy, but once someone has gained her trust they will have a bond for life. She will follow them around the field, as she did with her dam as a baby, and nibble at their clothes. She likes to explore a little from time to time, but will usually be puzzled or spooked by what she finds. She prefers to stick to what she knows and with people who she knows. Treasure is a firm favourite with staff and horses at Oak Hill because of her kind and quiet nature. She is a very quiet and trusting ride. Although she may easily spook, she will trust her rider when they say it is okay to go on. She is quiet on the track focuses on herself, rather than getting wound up by the other horses. Treasure doesn’t get intimidated by the other horses, but would rather avoid an aggressive confrontation and just do what she does best. This filliy’s focus, obedience and quiet confidence will take her far.
Discipline: Flat Racing
PEDIGREE & PROGENCY[/u]
Pedigree: Grand Silence x Precocious
Offspring: None
Reserves: Stride of Perfection Stables [x1; Unknown]
Pedigree Comments: Treasure is bred for the turf! Her sire is non less than the renowned Grand Silence! Who proved himself time and time again in many notable races, such as: Unicorn Horn Juvenille, Climax Cup, King Cup, Full Moon Derby, Breeder's Cup Marathon and Cox Plate. He won the Best 2YO Colt, Best Grade 2, Colt of the Year and Best 3YO Colt. There is no questioning that Treasure's sire had the ability to run and produce results over the turf. Her dam, Precocious was also a turf runner. She was not as successful during her racing career, not racing many times, but still achieving grade 4. Though Precocious has proven producing abilities, through the likes of Daydream. Daydream currently runs on the dirt and is a successful grade five and rising. If Treasure's sire and dam are anything to go off she will be dominant over the turf tracks in years to come.

RACING
Racing Style: Treasure breaks from the gate and sits quietly near to the back of the pack. She keeps her position there for around the first half of the race before causing a stir at all. Her jockey jokes and likes to call her 'the silent ninja', she moves her way up the field without agressivly challenging the other horses. She keeps herself to herself and makes her way to the lead of the pack, really without anyone else noticing. When it comes to the home straight she battles it out with anyone who challenges her, for victory.
