SHOT OF MOCHA
THE BASICS[/u]
Registered Name: Shot Of Mocha
Register Number: #1231
Barn Name: Ellie
Age: Five [2008]
Gender: Filly
Height: 15.2hh
Breed: Thoroughbred
Colour: Bay
Personality: An excitable and energetic filly who never really stops moving she is impatient and hates to stay still which can make tacking her up, grooming and mounting a nightmare. She loves nothing more than to be out in the pasture and stretching her legs - usually running off some of that boundless energy. It is amazing how she never seems to tire and is always eager to go as fast as she can.
Ellie is not a dominant mare. When it comes down to it she would rather be running around and having fun than bossing others around. This does not, however, mean that she is a pushover and she will stand up for herself, and others, if she feels that there is a buly around. Certainly this girl can fight when she wants to and has an extremely aggressive side which is rarely seen. The fact of the matter is, however, that Ellie is a peaceful mare despite all her energy. She is quiet and friendly and quite happy to be alone as long as she is able to move.

RACING
On The Track: Ellie is a closer, meaning that she likes to run right at the back of the pack, usually with a length between her and the last pack horse. She is somewhat versatile when it comes to speed and can handle most paces with ease, allowing those ahead of her to determine the pace. Her running style which adapt somewhat based on the pace of the race. In a fast paced race she is more likely to break later as the horses ahead of her are more likely to tire, and in slow paced races will break sooner. Generally, however, she starts to make her move about halfway through the race and will proeprly run during the straight, where her speed and saved stamina will give her an advantage. In Ellie's first year of racing she was still a little immature and absent minded, and just was not ready yet to come out on top. However, as he three year old season has kicked in she has really started to show us what she is made of. In Ellie's eyes, the more competition there is, the better. After all she did break her maiden in a challenging field of ten strong horses.
