Millie Daveys meets Josh Ville the new worker.
[/size]Josh Ville was an aspiring trainier and jockey, although he knew his height and build would come to no advantage to him here. As he stood at a muscular 6 foot 1". So, at the least he hoped he would become a trainer. Something else he though about doing was breeding. He thought this would be something very interesting, he loved the underdogs aswell as those who were bred to be champions. Josh would no doubt think up some whacky combination for a foal someday. In past years Josh had worked as a farrier. He was fully qualified and a very good and suggested one at that. He was coming to Oak Hill after he and Millie had talked over a proposal. In return for his free farrier skills Millie would allow him to work on the yard and work and if he was good enough he would work his way up as a trainer. They had never actually met in person, but today was Josh's first day on the yard and he was due at the house any minute.
Millie sat at the table in the dining room. She flicked through a magazine waiting for the new arival. She was curious to what he was actually going to be like and whether she had made a big mistake or not. Knock, knock, knock.. Millie jumped a little as the door knocker went. Well, this should be him. She muttered quietly. She got up and strolled over to the door, a little anxiously. She turned the handle and with a deep breath she pulled the door towards her.
In the door way stood a tall muscular man. He had a handsome face with chiseled features. Brown hair, blue eyes and a slight tan. Millie tried to hold in a smile and bit her lip a little. Josh? She questioned, although it was silly as she already knew it was. Who else would it be? Josh nodded with a cheeky side smile, Yep. Millie opened the door wider and invited Josh in.
They both took a seat at the table. So, erm.. do you want a drink? Millie asked, she wasn't really too sure what to say, she was abit flustered by his good lucks and charm. No, no I'm fine thanks. Josh replied, again with a smile on his face. Millie took a sip of her drink, buying her a bit of time for her to think what to say next. Although before she could think of anything else to say, Josh said something for her, So, about this proposal.. Are you still up for it? Josh questioned. He came across confident but shy at the same time. It was strange, yet Millie thought it was quite attractive. Yeah, well I mean we'll have to see how it goes, but I'm willing to give you a shot.. So how about I show you around? Josh stood up, Sure. Millie held out her hand in the direction of the door. Josh took the lead and made his way out of the house.
We'll go up to the field first if you want? Millie asked as she looked at the ground. Josh was quietly confident and replied, Sure, c'mon then! Millie headed in the direction of the dirt splattered quad, it was quite a walk to the fields so it was just easier to drive. Wait, are we going on that?! A slight smile spread across Josh's face as he pointed towards the quad. Millie nodded, Yeah. Josh began jogging towards the quad and he jumped on the front of it. Well, I'm driving then! Millie paused in her tracks, before making her way towards the quad again. Oh god, you've got to be kidding. Millie climbed on the back of the quad and awkwardly wrapped her arms around Josh. C'mon then she said, She nodded her head in the direction of the track. [/b]down there.[/b] Josh smiled back at her and reved up the quad. He sped down the narrow dirt track and up towards the fields.
Millie tightened her grip and she could feel Josh laughing. He was driving so fast over some of the bumps Millie's bum kept being lifted off the seat and as it did so she squeezed her arms around him. They reached the bottom of the fields and Josh came to a skidding halt. Well, that was fun! Josh announced as he turned the engine off. He tried to get off, but without even realising Millie was still grasping hold of him. Are you okay back there? He laughed to himself. Millie shot back into reality and stuttered Yes, just making sure you'd stopped. She hurried off the quad and headed up towards the yearlings and weanlings field...
