Millie mounted the bay colt. He was energetic and ready to go today! He tossed his head restlessly and pawed at the ground. Harry was on a roll lately. He had made it up to grade four and he was ready to face some tougher competition now. His next race was over at the track on Green Horse Fields. He was entered in the November Turf Stakes. And after a short break from the track Millie was confident that he was ready and willing to go out and win.
She urged the colt onto the track. She squeezed his sides gently with her heels. Harry listened intently and sprung forward into a jog. He jogged friskily up the centre of the track. Millie sat quietly. There was nothing wrong with a little spirit, nothing at all. Infact, Millie liked it. She felt that it showed the horse wanted to be there and that the had a passion for running.
