Ellie was calm and collected. Jaymee sat quietly upon her back as they made their way down the inner rail of the track. Jax was a little livelier, he led the way and pranced around a little from time to time. Today Ellie and Jax would be preparing for the Spring Cup. Jaymee and Millie both had hope for a good outcome from their horses. They were decent horses and had potential, they just needed to show themselves this year in the bigger races, and no doubt they would do just that. The crisp dirt crunched beneath their hooves as they danced and made their way energetically down the track. Today they would just be galloping one furlong, as Oak Hill was doing with all of their horses who were running in the Spring Cup.
Ellie was not fazed at all by Jax’s dancing and continued quietly down the track. She was a sensible mare who always kept her head and her focus, though there was no denying that she loved racing and had a real racing spirit. Jax soon settled into a quick yet calmer walk. The pair were quickly covering the ground with their tall frames and muscular bodies. Millie was first to ask Jax for a trot. Without hesitation the dark colt happily jumped into a forward going, long strided trot. Ellie perked up a little as she saw Jax moving off. Jaymee was quick to react and pushed Ellie forward. She quickly set off into a speedy trot. Her strides were relatively short and choppy, yet she still seemed to cover the distances very quickly.
The pair settled side by side and made their way down the track in a quick pace.
